I have a lifelong fascination with how things work and aesthetics - as Robert M. Pirsig puts it, both the classical and romantic spheres.
I did not set out to demonstrate this with these models, but as my skills developed and flowed over a couple of years I grew close to the goal of bringing these spheres together.
A flaw in these models is a lack of modularity, a quality that has a classical and romantic beauty all of its own. Many years after their construction, when I contemplate the workings of these models their complexity baffles me. This is at least in part due to poor modularity.
It also makes maintenance more difficult.
Fortunately I documented them during and immediately after building, and summarised these details here. The website functions well in this regard. But does it look good? You be the judge!
